The company BROKAW ESPAÑA, S.L. is a tropical fruit nursery situated in the valley of Vélez-Málaga in southern Spain, specializing in the production of avocado and mango nursery trees destined for the southern market of Europe and North Africa. In 1980 a group of farmers from Málaga province decided to import plant material from BROKAW NURSERY Inc, in Saticoy, California (USA) in order to start their plantations with premium quality trees. Given the good results, other local farmers began calling us, asking for nursery trees for their orchards; thereby in 1984 BROKAW ESPAÑA, S.L. was born, consisting of the initial group of Spanish farmers and Californian nurseryman. BROKAW NURSERY developed an innovative vegetative propagation process of avocado clonal rootstocks in greenhouses that has many advantageous features, which is now used by BROKAW ESPAÑA, S.L. BROKAW ESPAÑA, S.L. has the concession of patents for brand-new avocado fruiting varieties and latest clonal rootstocks released. The BROKAW GROUP is currently present in California, Spain, Morocco, Chile and South Africa directly or in partnership with other bodies. This activity involves a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of technology and production from many different fields; there are also constant technology and plant material transfers within different companies of the group. Currently BROKAW ESPAÑA, S.L. produces more than 400, 000 tropical fruit trees each year.
